How Animals Move, Multi-Step Instructions – This week’s lessons in your community library

We are excited to share the newest content added to the TeachMate365 and AutisMate365 community library. Each scene and or support can be downloaded separately and later customized to support the needs of your learner or student.

1. Register for Standardized Exams
Who is it for: Advanced learners

In this scene you will find a visual story of how to register for the SAT exam. Note: further customization is needed for photos to reflect each step in the process.

To Differentiate:
• For beginner learners: Incorporate a video model of the registration process.
• For intermediate learners: Incorporate a detailed visual schedule for each step in the registration process.

 

2. Sharing Evidence to Support Claims
Who is it for: Intermediate learners
In this scene you will find two video models with an oral passage recorded and a choice board for each.

To Differentiate:
• For beginner learners: Incorporate video models with only one sentence and encourage the student to retell what was said.
• For advanced learners: Incorporate more detailed video models and encourage the student to write notes down as they listen, and choose the main idea from their notes.

 

3. Multi-Step Instructions
Who is it for: Intermediate learners
In this scene you will find three visual schedules, each multi-step instructions used to support making food.

To Differentiate:
• For beginner learners: Incorporate additional steps and video models to target verbs, such as ‘open’.
• For advanced learners: Decrease steps within the schedules and incorporate more difficult tasks.

 

4. Community Signs Identification
Who is it for: Beginner learners
In this scene you will find six common community signs as image hotspots on a map.

To Differentiate:
• For intermediate learners: Incorporate visual stories for each sign to explain the significance of each.
• For advanced learners: Incorporate additional signs that are found in the community.

 

5. How Animals Move
Who is it for: Beginner learners
In this scene you will find four animal types, with a choice board containing animals that fly, slither, walk, and swim.

To Differentiate:
• For intermediate learners: Encourage the student to look through books and add additional animals to each category. Incorporate a visual story to explain the movements of each.
• For advanced learners: Incorporate a visual story to address why animals move differently, where these animals are located, and additional ways animals move.

To import from the community library:
1. Navigate to the community library
2. Tap on the scene you want to import
3. Tap on the import button

Your scene is now located in My Library under My Downloaded Supports

Add the scene to your desktop:
1. Enter edit mode
2. Tap on the green plus sign to add scene
3. Add scene from My Library
4. Select the scene you want to add
5. Tap import. Your scene is now imported to your current location.
