1. Expressing Wants and Needs, Device
Who is it for: Beginner learners
In this scene you will find choice boards of common foods, drinks, and toys for beginner communicators, as well as important word buttons. Each buttons is programmed with auditory output.

To Differentiate:
• For intermediate learners: Expand choice board options and categories, as well as incorporate real photos.
• For advanced learners: Incorporate a custom vocabulary that best supports the student across environments.

 

2. Identify Feelings in Others
Who is it for: Beginner learners
In this scene you will find visual schedules with images displaying happy, sad, mad, and tired. In addition, a visual story is included to explain the most common ways to identify each feeling.

To Differentiate:
• For intermediate learners: Incorporate video models for each feeling and have the student identify feelings in each video.
• For advanced learners: Incorporate additional feelings, such as anxious, annoyed, frustrated, and have the student identify feelings across multiple context.

 

3. Arranging Transportation
Who is it for: Advanced
In this scene you will find a pre-teaching visual story, a schedule of how to arrange a ride to work, as well as a work schedule with auditory output.

To Differentiate:
• For beginner learners: Incorporate a visual story to discuss responsibilities associated with having a job.
• For intermediate learners: Practice each step associated with the presented story and schedule. Brainstorm possible job opportunities.

 

4. Effective Communication with Teachers
Who is it for: Advanced learners
In this scene you will find a visual story to review why and how to communicate with teachers, and a visual schedule to support meeting with a teacher.

To Differentiate:
• For beginner learners: Incorporate important word buttons that will gain the attention of the teacher, then utilize a choice board to pinpoint what the student wants to communicate.
• For intermediate learners: Identify what types of topics a student may want to discuss in private with a teacher and why it is important to have open communication.

 

5. Days and Months
Who is it for: Beginner learners
In this scene you will find a calendar with choice boards for the days of the week and months of the year, as well as auditory output for each day on the top of the calendar.

To Differentiate:
• For intermediate learners: Incorporate visual stories to increase the context of days and months, such as a story about November and days that have significant meaning.
• For advanced learners: Incorporate appointments within the calendar and have the student identify the month, day, and time of the appointment.

To import from the community library:
1. Navigate to the community library
2. Tap on the scene you want to import
3. Tap on the import button

Your scene is now located in My Library under My Downloaded Supports

 

Add the scene to your desktop:

1. Enter edit mode
2. Tap on the green plus sign to add scene
3. Add scene from My Library
4. Select the scene you want to add
5. Tap import. Your scene is now imported to your current location.
