Differentiating Instruction Using TeachMate365 and AutisMate365

Differentiating instruction has gotten much easier using TeachMate365 and AutisMate365. We have included tips to help you identify the most appropriate visual tools for your different level learners.

Beginner learners:

  1. Use voice hotpots
  2. Represent voice hotspots with an outline
  3. Use real photos to decrease level of abstraction

To download an example of a lesson differentiated for a beginner learner:

  1. Enter edit mode
  2. Tap on the green plus sign to add scene
  3. Add scene from My Library
  4. Select Beginner Community Helper
  5. Tap import

Your scene is now imported to your current location.

Intermediate learners:

  1. Incorporate link hotspots to build associations
  2. Introduce choice boards for embedding language and creating teaching opportunities
  3. Utilize visual schedules to promote increased independence

To download an example of a lesson differentiated for an intermediate learner:

  1. Enter edit mode
  2. Tap on the green plus sign to add scene
  3. Add scene from My Library
  4. Select Intermediate Community Helper
  5. Tap import

Your scene is now imported to your current location.

Advanced learners:

  1. Introduce grid based communication using the sentence builder
  2. Use more abstract symbols
  3. Start to generalize skills by using the platform in the community for mastered skills.

To download an example of a lesson differentiated for an advanced learner:

  1. Enter edit mode
  2. Tap on the green plus sign to add scene
  3. Add scene from My Library
  4. Select Advanced Community Helper
  5. Tap import

Your scene is now imported to your current location.
